A great day

After a long hard slog by everyone on both sides of the Atlantic it’s an amazing relief and moment of elation to be able to post this. Today, Crackdown 2 went into Certification. The moment was screen captured by our chums in MS Test. This is the culmination of a lot of very hard and successful work over the last 15 months.

Crackdown 2 Submitted to Certification

Amazing how so much effort reduces down to one button press.

We’re not quite on the Parade Lap of the race yet. The process from here is like the last quarter mile where a tyre might still burst but there’s still enough momentum for us to roll over the finish line victorious. All the teams have done as much as they can to get the game through Cert as smoothly as possible and now it’s just a small wait for that process to run to completion before the green light is given to get discs printed and put in boxes.

Exiting times. :D

  1. Well done guys! Can’t wait!

  2. This will be so epic. I just know it. I still play crackdown often. New missions and 4 player co op alone would get me to play this game.

  3. Well done guys! Can’t wait to try 4 player co op with lots of rockets :)

What’s next for Ruffian? Crackdown 3? What… no answer?

:) I am sure that you are all already swarn to more Stalinesque secrecy. But what ever it is that you are working on, I hope you have a great time doing it.

  4. wow guys you blew my mind with crackdown and the day i found out about crackdown 2 i peed my pants with exitment i mean how can you improve with perfection after a wile i thought that it could be a shoddy sequil but then i started to go into depth you proved me wrong and when i played the long awated demo the only thought i had in my mind was half an hour was not enough i can only describe from what i know but from what i know crackdown 2 is truly epic

  5. This game looks epic preordered my copy today but guys 30 mins on the demo not long enough at one time the demo had a glitch for infinite play and everyone was happy you should have made that standard BUT around a day before the game came out cut the plug or something similar like then making it 30 minutes to make people really want the full game it is looking amazing and apart from the demo glitch being gone Excellent work 9/10 for the demo and a ?/10 for the full game since well i haven’t played the full game =)

  6. Just a fan appreciating a work of art. Great improvements on the game. Suggesting a weapon for DLC similar to the snub pistol on Gears of War.

  7. All of us at 3killabytes were very excited to get our hands on the game! Check out our review! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffSDkIAJY3o

We were the first to have a review up of the game and we love it! It’s wicked! Thank you for understanding what gamers wanted. Other studios should take notes!

  8. Hello. (This is also posted in the forums)

I started a game before getting the Day One Update. (My 360 was offline at the time)

Now, continuing this game after having updated has a VERY annoying side effect. (I’m assuming the old game + patch is the problem from what I have read online.)

Each time I pause the game it freezes my Agent in place. No movement is possible, at all.

The only way to unfreeze the Agent is to hit the BACK button and resume game from there. Except if you are located on an extraction point where the ”PRESS BACK TO CALL SUPPORT” prompt is on screen. At this point, you can only quit out or extract your agent from the game.

Like I said, VERY annoying. I would be a more than a little peeved if I have to restart a game because of this.

    Steps to reproduce:

1- Start new game without Game Update.
2- Play a bit. Save game. Quit.
    3- Update title.
    4- Reload game.
    5- Hit START
    6- Resume game.
7- Cuss under your breath as you notice a frozen agent with a live (and aggressive) game world around him
    8- Press BACK
    9- Resume game
10- Notice unfrozen agent and lay the smacketh down.

  9. Okay so I love Crackdown 2 but I have one question. Have you guys considered trying to get the rights to the Predator franchise? Because a Predator game with a tweeked Crackdown 2 engine would be amazing. Please do this!!
