Long Overdue Update

Wow! Such a long time and no blogging from us Ruffians despite some very very exciting things happening here in Dundee. First of all the most exciting of which is that we have bought a some new sofas. Here is one of them looking fabulous.

Some people may have said they make the studio look like a victorian drawing room or something out of Corrie. Obviously this is a side effect of an under developed aesthetic function and in no way reflects on the quality of our new furniture. Being the magnanimous sort of chap I am my reaction is tending towards pity rather than ire. Anyway. New Sofas. Your studio should get some like these too.

What else has happened?

Oh yes. It was announced at E3 2009 that we’re developing Crackdown 2 exclusively for X360. I knew there was something else :D If you’ve been following our story in anyway you’ll know there’s been a lot of speculation about what we’re up to. There’s been rumours and accusations in forums, blogs and press statements. All the while we’ve had to keep schtumm and focus on the work in the hand. I’ve got to say that now everything is all official it’s a massive weight off of our shoulders.

Is there a lot more we can say now? Not really :) Well not yet.

We watched the announcement live in the studio, streaming the keynote and projecting it onto the back wall of the studio. And it was great, a really nice atmosphere enhanced with a few drinks for the troops. Hearing the orb sound chime in at the start of CD2 trailer and the roar that went up in the studio was one of the best moments of my professional life. This is a great studio :) You can see a few pictures from our night of glory on Flickr right here.

There was a lot of stuff in the MS keynote, the received wisdom is they “won” this years E3 and it was packed to the gills with a lot of great new games. We seem to have held our own even among such intimidating company as Project Natal, Left For Dead 2, Modern Warfare 2 and many others. In fact someone made a pretty awesome graph showing the number of posts in the NeoGaf MS Keynote thread over the duration of the keynote.

See that flurry of posts right there in the middle? That’s Crackdown 2 that is! :D Click on the picture for a a larger version. Yeah, yeah I know it doesn’t actually prove anything but it’s nice to see there’s some buzz with the super core players of the rather excellent NeoGaf forums :)

Now it’s all out in the open we should see the end of some of the more scurrilous press we’ve attracted. If I’m completely honest some of the wilder speculation will be missed. Our lager filled fridge getting it’s very own new story on VG247 was particularly funny and excellent. Cheers Pat :D

  3. Awesome. More crackdown. This is one of the best news (apart from the new FF’s) I heard during the E3.

  5. Very much congradulations on the announcement. i’m stoked to see more new about the game in the future and would be honored to raid your fridge. by the way, maybe you could take the ruffivan to a public appearance at the midnight release whenever that will be.

  6. Failing to buget can ruin your plans to get out of debt. If you’re not already in debt, the lack of a budget can get you there. In the basic sense, a budget is just a plan for saving and spending your money.

Why is a financial plan a crucial key for debt management?

Imagine taking a roadtrip across the country without a directions or compass. Sure, you might get there after many detours, turn-arounds, and delays. Or you could get a roadmap, map out your trip, and get there with a lot less trouble.

It’s the same way with managing debt. You could successfully get out of debt without a budget, but how long would it take and how much would it cost you. Instead, living out a budget will make getting out of debt much easier.

A budget will help you figure out exactly how much you can afford to spend to get out of debt. Not only that, it helps you figure out where to squeeze more money from your debt.

Once your debt is paid off, a budget will help you to keep your finances on track to keep you from getting back into debt. A budget will help keep your spending under control so you don’t have to rely on loans to make ends meet.

  7. Good day,

Have you ever think about starting your very own blog? There are many excellent platforms, but by far the best is Wordpress. It is simple to set up, however the themes just never fit my specifications. I searched for a simple solution to this problem and realized that there wasn’t one. I then had a template custom made for my needs and was so happy with the outcome. I then decided to build a website that would show the world how to simply hire an expert in wordpress design.
